Visiting China, Xi’an

Xi'an city wallSouthwest of Beijing is Xi’an, just a two hours flight away. Xi’an is situated at the top of the Silk Road and home to the Terracotta Army, a full-sized army of more than 8,000 warriors, sculpted in clay for the funeral of China’s first emperor. Archaeological digs are ongoing, with only part of the site uncovered; even so, it’s an extraordinary sight. Xi’an has seen 13 dynasties place their capital here through its 3,000 years of history, leaving a trail of heritage behind.
